Mia Love for Congress

Today’s Woman in the Lens is a “hats-off” to a Republican woman running for the US Congress from the great state of Utah. Palladian View recommends Republican women who embody the principle of “Building leaders of tomorrow by empowering women today.” Mrs. Mia Love, the newly-elected Republican nominee for Utah’s 4th Congressional district is a stellar example.

Mia Love received a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Hartford in Connecticut. She married her husband Jason and they moved to Utah, where they have been raising their three children. She has served as a City Councilwoman in Saratoga Springs, one of Utah’s fastest-growing areas, and eventually was elected Mayor. As mayor, she led the city through a 1700% population growth, and increased essential services while decreasing the net effect on property taxes. She is best known in her community for her conservative positions on limited government, increased citizen liberties and limited restraints on business.

In her spare time, Mia is an avid runner, tread trainer and an accomplished singer and dancer. She is an active member of her church and local community.

Mia will be running against six-term Democratic incumbent this fall, but it is a redistricted seat. A Mia Love win would be historic in several ways: she would be the first African-American female Republican woman in Congress and the first African-American Congressman from Utah.

Palladian View is pleased to spotlight this conservative Republican woman leader who has accomplished much for the Republican Party and her state.
